PY Lifeboat ( www.pylifeboat.org ) in 3 Peaks race rescue

The yacht ESOX (latin name for pike in case you are interested) was rescued by the PY lifeboat early on Monday morning. The yacht skippered by Jean Louis Lebegue Jones was a competitor in the three peaks race. She was already 24 hours late due to engine failure and then encountered difficulties on Caernarfon Bar in atrocious conditions and mountainous seas. The two runners were seriously seasick and help was summonsed at about 11.30 pm on Sunday night. It took the boat until 6.00 am to tow the boat to safety in PY harbour. The boat was being followed by a film crew from HTV Wales for a programme called The Melting Pot to be transmitted sometime in September. The film crew were happy to spend a convivial lunchtime at the Ty Coch once the crew of the yacht made it to shore.
